The GN Division One League will continue this weekend with several of the favorites from the respective zones, Brong Ahafo United, W. NEA Salamina, Hasaacas, FC Samartex, Gt. Olympics, Heart of Lions, and Tema Youth, who all failed to notch a perfect start to the season hoping to rebound this weekend.

In Zone One, W. NEA Salamina, who were surprisingly held to a 2-2 stalemate at home by newbies, Tamale City FC, will have to a chance to test their road game which has been their Achilles heel over the past couple of seasons as guests of Berekum Arsenals. B. Arsenals picked up a crucial point on the road in their opening game against Paga Crocodiles. They will go full steam for the points, it will be up to Salamina to deny them, or at worst split the points. B. A. United got off to a strong start, despite ending up a goal short on the wrong side of a five-goal thriller against Steadfast FC, at home against Real Tamale United this weekend, it seems like the 3points will be theirs to lose. And Bofoakwa FC, who got off to a strong start at home with a 3-0 spanking of newbies, Gbewaa FC, will have work hard for success against Tamale City FC, who will be spurred on by their opening day performance.

On the heels of their glorious 4-0 home thrashing of Wa Suntaa SC, Glory Stars will be yearning for their second straight win of the young season, but they will have to see what their hosts, Kintampo FC, who lost on the road on opening day will have to say about that. Young Apostles will be hoping to the take the bite out of Paga Crocodiles game as they open up at home against the latter, and Wa Suntaa SC will also go for the rebound at home against a formidable Unity FC side.

Elsewhere, Techiman City FC will have to conquer newbies, Gbewaa FC on the road to stay on course, and Nkoranza Warriors will have to sharpen their weapons to hold down a buoyant Steadfast FC.

Zone two favorites, Gold Stars, will look to continue their excellent start to the season as they hit the road as guests of newly promoted side, Pacific Heroes. Not much is known about their hosts, who lost their opening match on the road to New Edubiase by 2 goals. What is certain, however, will be their determination to make amends, but on paper, given Gold Stars’ depth and experience, they should be able to earn at worst a point to keep their title hopes alive. FC Samartex gave a good accounting of themselves on opening day in their road match against Achiken, as they earned a crucial point. At home this weekend, it will be up to them to put up their best game to pick up the full spoils against a pesky Unistar Academy side that can give them a good challenge for a share of the spoils at home. And Sekondi Hasaacas, who took a point in their first match of the season on the road against King Faisal will go for the full spoils as they welcome Achiken to their backyard.

Former tier-one side, New Edubiase, got off to a bright start on opening day with a 2-0 win over Pacific Heroes, they will have to channel some of that energy as they play as guests of newbies, Star Madrid FC, who stunned Venomous Vipers on the road with a brilliant 2-0 win. Following their opening day loss on the road, Asokwa Deportivo will go for the rebound at home, as they welcome Proud United, who managed a point at home on match day 1, and so will Nzema Kotoko, who will be at home to Venomous Vipers, who have to make amends after going down 0-2 at home on opening day.

Elsewhere, BYFA will have the chance for their first win of the season as they welcome Skyy FC to their turf, and S. All Blacks will have the chance to improve on their match day one performance that saw them earn a point on the road as they host of King Faisal, who faltered at home with a 0-0 tie against a formidable Hasaacas side.

Following their impressive 3-1 start to the season, an already formidable and now hard to overlook Vision FC side, will have the chance to continue their perfect start to the season, as they play host to Uncle ‘T” FC  at their Amanhia base in a match that is theirs to lose. Following their unimpressive lone goal win over Accra Lions, Heart of Lions will have to prove to their fans and pundits that they are not on the decline, they will have to pull out all the stops for a positive result against Amidaus Profs in Accra. Amidaus are definitely off to a good start after holding Tema Youth to a 0-0 at Tema, last weekend. The Lions will surely have to be wary as the Tema based lads look to build on that. And Accra Gt. Olympics will surely have to step things up a notch if their hopes of a fast return to tier-one soccer is going to be a reality, following an unimpressive 1-1 tie with newly promoted side, Agbozume Weavers, last weekend at home. Their hosts, Mighty Jets, were 1-0 losers on the road this past Sunday, they will definitely match up well against Gt. Olympics as they look to avoid a second straight loss.

Okyeman Planners sure got off to a better start than they did last season with a lone goal home over Mighty Jets, to prove that they are going to be contenders this season, they will have to win their second straight game, this time as guests of Danbort FC, who will be hoping to improve on last week’s 1-1 tie at Kotoku Royals. Tema Youth will be under pressure to improve upon their turgid start to the season as they play as guests of Agbozume Weavers. After holding Gt. Olympics to an impressive 1-1 last weekend, the Weavers are certainly feeling confident, and it will be up to them to translate that into victory over a very good Tema Youth side. And Krystal Palace will have the chance to add some misery to Nania FC’s poor start, as they host the latter at Akosombo.

Elsewhere, Accra Lions will focus on getting into the win column as they host SP Mirren, and so will Young Wise, who will be at home to Kotoku Royals
