Week 9 of the National Women’s League came on as scheduled this past weekend with some very interesting results across both zones.

In the Northern Zone, Ampem Darkoa continued their winless run in the second half of the season as they played to a second straight tie, this time, a goalless tie on the road with Kumasi Sports Academy. The results saw Ampem Darkoa improve their tally to 21points to hold on to the first spot, a point better than the pursuing KSA who upped their tally to 20points. Ampem Darkoa remain unbeaten after 9 games. Third placed Fabulous Ladies took advantage of their home court to pick up their first win of the second round, a two to nothing win over Lepo Ladies. They improved to 15points on the season with the win. Lepo Ladies have the 6th spot on 8points.

Elsewhere, Northern Ladies took their win total to a grand of two following a hard-fought 2-1 home win over Ashtown Ladies. They improved their tally to 6points but remain one spot off the bottom. And Prison Ladies were not too impressive at home against the winless Real Upper Ladies, but they managed a lone goal for the maximum points.
