Match day 10 of the National Women's League (NWL) ended this past weekend with unbeaten Ampem Darkoa getting back to winning ways, Sea Lions taking a stunning hit to their aspirations at home, and bottommost Real Upper Ladies and Holy Royals unable to take advantage of playing at home to make a push at moving out of the cellar.
Northern Zone leaders, Ampem Darkoa lived up to the expectation at home this time, as they ended their 3 game winless spell with a 7-0 home thrashing of bottom Northern Ladies for their first win of the second round. The result saw Ampem Darkoa raise their tally to 24points as well as extend their lead to 3 points over their pursuers. Northern Ladies remained one spot off the bottom on 6points. Kumasi Sports Academy disappointed at home this weekend as they divvied the spoils with Ashtown Ladies in a match they were largely tipped to win. They remain second on 21points despite the loss, but they picked up a 3point deficit as Ampem Darkoa won handily at home.
Elsewhere, Lepo Ladies’ quest for their third win of the campaign came up short as they went down at by lone goal to Prison Ladies who won back to back games for the first time this season to extend their unbeaten run to three games. And Real Upper Ladies took their already poor record to a new low, as they lost for the 7th time this season to remain winless and bottommost

The loss, the second straight for Sea Lions in as many matches dropped them to the third spot on 17points, same points total as their conquerors who climbed to the second spot by virtue of their advantage in the goals category. Immigration Ladies who have been playing unnoticeably well and are undefeated in their last 8 games vaulted to the top of the standings on 19points following a 2-2 tie at home with Samaria Ladies. They now have a two point advantage over the pursuing duo of Lady Strikers and Sea Lions.
Elsewhere, Holy Royals reverted to their poor form after winning their first game of the season this past weekend. They lost by a goal to two to Police Ladies who won for the fourth time this season to move up to mid-table on 15points.
