Chelsea laid down a huge marker for the PL title with their eighth successive victory of the season in an impressive and stunning come from behind 3-1 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad on Saturday to hold on to their three point lead atop the log as third placed and four points behind the chase – Liverpool – looks to draw closer on Sunday with a win over Bournemouth.
Alexis Sanchez stole the show with a hat-trick in a comprehensive 5-1 mauling of West Ham that moved Arsenal up second with the latter extending their unbeaten run to thirteen games, Tottenham rebounded at home with a 5-0 demolition of Swansea to strengthened their position around on the fringes of the PL top four, and Crystal Palace staunched their uninterrupted six game losing run with a 3-0 spanking of Southampton at home to ease some pre 3-1ssure off Alan Pardew.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Stoke City earned a deserved 2-0 home win over Burnley, Leicester City fell behind by 21points in their title defence following a 2-1 defeat that enabled Sunderland to move off the bottom of the log and West Brom leapfrogged idle Manchester Utd for the sixth spot after bouncing Watford by three goals to one at home. Bournemouth completed one of the best comebacks of the season on Sunday, stunning Liverpool with 3goals in the final 14 minutes for a 4-3 victory in a dramatic PL game to end the Reds 15 match unbeaten run, and Everton’s Leighton Baines converted a late penalty to deny Manchester Utd the maximum points.
And on Monday Night Football, a Gaston Ramirez header earned Middlesbrough their second win since August to leave Hull City stuck in the PL relegation zone.
Monday
Middlesbrough 1-0 Hull City
Ramirez, the game's outstanding player, nodded in Viktor Fischer's corner after being left unmarked at the back post.
Fischer earlier had a goal ruled out for offside, while Boro striker Alvaro Negredo wasted two good chances.
Hull, who have lost eight of their past 10 league games, rallied late on but did not deserve a point.
The Tigers remain 19th in the table, two points above bottom club Swansea and one from safety.
Boro, who have now lost only one in six, climb to 13th, four points above the relegation zone.
Sunday
Bournemouth 4-3 Liverpool
Bournemouth scored three goals in the final 14 minutes to complete a remarkable fightback and beat Liverpool 4-3 at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.

Bournemouth tops Liverpool 4-3 with thrilling comeback
Nathan Ake bundled home a stoppage-time winner for the hosts, who had been 3-1 down with 75 minutes played.
Sadio Mane (20) and Divock Origi (22) put the visitors in control at half-time, and they looked comfortable again when Emre Can restored their two-goal cushion (64) following Callum Wilson's 56th-minute penalty, won by substitute Ryan Fraser.
But Bournemouth stunned their opponents with a late rally as Fraser pulled one back himself (76) before setting up Steve Cook's equaliser two minutes later (78).
Ake's late finish snatched the three points and secured Bournemouth's first ever win over Liverpool, sending the Cherries up to 10th in the Premier League table.
Everton 1-1 Man Utd
Leighton Baines rescued a late point for Everton against Manchester United after substitute Marouane Fellaini conceded a costly penalty against his former club at Goodison Park.
Fellaini, on his 100th United appearance, was introduced in the 85th minute to help see out the win but his first meaningful action was to commit a clumsy foul on Idrissa Gueye in the area at the 89th minute mark, and Baines made no mistake from 12 yards.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic's sixth goal in five games had earlier put United on course for just a third PL win in 11 matches.
United have now dropped seven points as a result of goals conceded in the final 10 minutes of league games this season - more than any other side, they remain 6th and 13points off the top.

Saturday
Manchester City 1-3 Chelsea
Chelsea's eighth straight PL win cemented their place at the top of the table - but their victory at Etihad Stadium ended in chaos as Manchester City's Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho were sent off in injury time.

Manchester City 1-3 Chelsea
Chelsea was impressive as they cut City apart on the break after going behind to Gary Cahill's own goal on the stroke of half-time, when he diverted Jesus Navas' cross beyond keeper Thibaut Courtois.
The game turned on Kevin de Bruyne's 56th-minute miss with City in control, crashing Navas' cross against the bar from inside the six-yard box.
Chelsea drew level on the hour when Diego Costa outmuscled Nicolas Otamendi to score and they were ahead 10 minutes later when substitute Willian raced clear to beat City keeper Claudio Bravo with ease.
Eden Hazard completed a magnificent win for Chelsea with another goal on the break, showing too much pace for Aleksandar Kolarov to wrap up three vital points.
Chelsea's renaissance since a 3-0 loss at Arsenal in September left them in eighth place, eight points behind then leaders City, has been hugely impressive - but this is their most powerful statement of the season.
Eight wins from eight and only two goals conceded tells the story and this win against City was the second week in succession they have come from behind to beat a team that could be regarded as realistic title rivals after overcoming Tottenham at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
Crystal Palace 3-0 Southampton
Two goals from Christian Benteke helped Crystal Palace gain a much-needed win over Southampton. Palace went ahead when Saints goalkeeper Fraser Forster, in front of watching England manager Gareth Southgate, sliced a clearance and Benteke scored from close range.
Palace doubled their lead when an unmarked James Tomkins prodded home from three yards out after a corner.
Benteke grabbed his second late on as he tapped in after Jason Puncheon's pull-back as Palace secured their first win in eight matches to pull away from the bottom places.
Stoke City 2-0 Burnley
Marc Muniesa scored his first Premier League goal to seal a deserved home win for Stoke over Burnley.
Striker Jonathan Walters put Stoke ahead with an exquisite finish, guiding home a volley from Mame Biram Diouf's teasing cross.
Spanish defender Muniesa made it 2-0 before half-time thanks to a crisp low volley following clever play on the left flank by Marko Arnautovic.
Burnley went close late on when Andre Gray's angled shot was parried by goalkeeper Lee Grant.
Sunderland 2-1 Leicester
The Black Cats took the lead when Robert Huth turned a corner into his own net midway through the second half.
And before Leicester could mount a response, David Moyes' side added a second when Jermain Defoe drove in after Duncan Watmore's shot was blocked.
Substitute Shinji Okazaki flicked Demarai Gray's cross in at the near post to set up a tense finish, but Sunderland held on.
The result moves them up to 18th and within two points of the Foxes, who are yet to win away in the league this season.
Tottenham 5-0 Swansea
Harry Kane celebrated his new contract at Tottenham by scoring twice to help his side thrash Swansea at White Hart Lane.
The England international, who signed a deal that will keep him at the club until 2022 on Thursday, opened the scoring from the spot after Dele Alli was brought down by Kyle Naughton in the 39th minute.
Heung-Min Son added Spurs' second on the stroke of half-time with an acrobatic volley before Kane scored his second of the game just after the interval, starting and finishing a swift counter-attack from the hosts.
Christian Eriksen bundled home a fourth on 70 minutes before completing the scoring in stoppage time.
Defeat leaves Swansea bottom of the PL.
West Bromwich 3-1 Watford
West Brom moved up to sixth in the Premier League after securing a third win in four league games with victory over Watford at The Hawthorns.
Central defender Jonny Evans headed in a Chris Brunt opener to put the Baggies in front with his first goal of the season.
The influential Brunt added a second when his low, left-footed strike from 25 yards went in via a deflection off Watford defender Juan Zuniga.
Watford pulled one back when Christian Kabasele sidefooted in from close range before Baggies keeper Ben Foster crucially saved from Roberto Pereyra.
Matt Phillips curled in a stoppage-time goal for the home side as West Brom moved ahead of Manchester United.
West Ham 1-5 Arsenal
Alexis Sanchez's fine hat-trick secured an emphatic victory over West Ham.
Mesut Ozil opened the scoring with Arsenal's first shot on target after Angelo Ogbonna's mistake and Sanchez's cut-back set up a simple finish.

West Ham 1-5 Arsenal
The Hammers threatened to equalise after the break before Sanchez turned, drove into the box and finished brilliantly past Darren Randolph.
Sanchez added a second eight minutes later with a low strike into the corner, before Andy Carroll stooped to nod in the rebound from a ricocheted Dimitri Payet free-kick.
Faint hopes of a comeback were extinguished by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's excellent finish from range and Sanchez's masterful dinked chip over the keeper.
The defeat left West Ham a point above the relegation zone with Arsenal moving to the second spot.
Arsene Wenger's side are now unbeaten in 13 league games, and their last away defeat was in February.
