ghanaian nurses

  • Written By Doreen Hammond - There is no question that nursing is a critical aspect of any countries’ healthcare system. In fact, one cannot think of an effective health system without a nurse and even doctors attest to this reality.

  • But there are other areas where we can take advantage, as we may have a competitive edge over other nations.

Some nations prosper while others struggle.

  • Don't ever judge the competence of a nurse merely on grounds of how well he or she spells or pronounces your name. Your name can even be a three-letter word like Ama or Abu.

These days, I see people make social media videos that say that nurses of late "don't know anything" because they can't even spell or pronounce their patients' names properly at the OPD.

  • Dear Abena Magis and #PepperDem Ministries,

I want you to use your medium to address a very pressing societal issue.

  • To start with, public nursing training is reliant solely on government funding and thus numbers are determined by budgetary allocation ...

“All successful people men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.”

  • I would conclude by saying the arguments that the export of nurses as proposed by Mr President is a silver bullet that could help fix the problem of unemployed nurses is a huge smoke screen.

“If someone is able to show me that what I think or do is not right, I will happily change, for I seek the truth, by which no one was ever truly harmed. It is the person who continues in his self-deception and ignorance who is harmed.” Marcus Aurelius.

  • “the government only does the private nurses favour by employing them, so they should desist from giving unnecessary pressure.”

In “Life and Letters”, Thomas Henry Huxley held this view; “sit down before fact as a little child, be prepared to give up every preconceived notion, follow humbly wherever and to whatever abysses nature leads, or you shall learn nothing. I have only begun to learn content and peace of mind since I have resolved at all risks to do this.”
