  • Akuapem Polo who has been charged with publication of nude pictures with her seven-year-old son pleaded not guilty when she was first arraigned before the court.

    Lawyer for Actress Rosemond Brown popularly known as Akuapem Polo, Kudzo Vortia, says her client will on April 14 change her plea from not guilty to guilty.

  • The court will now sentence her on her own plea but as a requirement by law, it has to be sure of her state as a woman hence an order for a pregnancy test to be conducted to ensure that she is not pregnant.

    Ghanaian actress, Rosemond Alade Brown aka Akwapem Poloo who is facing an Accra Circuit court over the publication of a nude picture with her seven-year-old son in June last year has been convicted on her own plea by an Accra circuit court.

  • The court in giving its reasons to buttress the sentence held the view that the action of the accused did not only infringe on the rights of the child. It morally corrupted those who saw the post. It also caused the pride and dignity of the country as a whole.

    “Mummy please, Mummy, I beg you, Mummy please” were the words of Actress Rosemond Alade Brown, aka Akuapem Poloo when the court slapped her with a 90 days imprisonment for the publication of a nude picture with her seven-year-old son in June, 2020.

  • Poloo after spending at least two days in jail satisfied the bail conditions of the court - the sum of Gh¢80,000 with three sureties and depositing her passport at the court's registry.

    Actress Rosemond Alade Brown, alias Akuapem Poloo has been released from prison on bail pending the final determination of her appeal challenging the 90-day jail term handed her by the Accra Circuit Court.

  • In her ruling, the court presided over by Christiana Cann, took into consideration the aggravating facts, intrinsic seriousness of the offence, gravity, prevalence and premeditation with which the accused person committed the offence levelled against her.
