A Deputy Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Mr. Abu Ramadan, has called on Ghanaians to take advantage of Saturday’s disastrous gas explosion at the Atomic Junction to aid NADMO implement laws that will guarantee the safety of all Ghanaians.

Mr. Abu Ramadan made the call during an interview with the press.

He revealed that anytime the organization decides to implement laws to the letter, they are asked to put a human face to it. He mentioned that when they are able to jump beyond the human face and bite the bullet, the country will be a safe haven devoid of disasters.

He took advantage of the interaction with the press to talk about the ongoing slum development along the bank of the Adenta river. According to him, when his outfit decided to clear all residents of the precarious abode, they were asked to put a human face to it.

He also made it known that the present NADMO administration has been able to depoliticize the organization, and that all the workers are Civil Servants. The present administration, he added, will not renege on dealing with workers who are interested in politicizing the organization.

The explosion claimed seven lives and left well over a hundred people injured.
