Former President John Dramani Mahama of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been asked to lead the party for the country’s 2020 General Elections by the ten Regional Chairmen of the party.

At a meeting held on Thursday, 9 November in Accra, with the former President, all ten Chairpersons asked him “to consider the request of teeming supporters of the NDC and Ghanaians to lead the party to the 2020 General Elections.”

The request was contained in a joint statement issued by the Regional Chairmen, who encouraged the former President to embark on a ‘Thank You Tour’, to acknowledge the support he received during his tenure and during the last elections, which he lost.
