- According to him, it is his hope that the nominee uses his reservations as a guiding post as he assumes his position as Special Prosecutor to discharge his duties creditably.
Hon. Alhassan Suhuyini, Member of Parliament for Tamale North, has in a swift turnaround withdrawn his dissent vote against Mr. Martin Amidu for the position of Special Prosecutor.
In a telephone interview on Joy FM with Evans Mensah on Top Story, the legislator explained that his decision to withdraw his dissent vote against the former Attorney General was to make way for the committee's report to be adopted on consensus.
He however said that his initial reservations about Mr. Amidu not being suitable for the position remain unchanged. He stated that he was convinced in his mind that his dissent was to serve as a reminder to Mr. Amidu that he needed to prove someone wrong.
According to him, it is his hope that the nominee uses his reservations as a guiding post as he assumes his position as Special Prosecutor to discharge his duties creditably.
He added that, he will be happy to be disappointed by Mr. Amidu's actions because if he lives up to the expectations of Ghanaians, Ghana will be the winner.
It will be recalled that in an earlier interview with Lexis Bill on Joy FM, Hon. Suhuyini revealed that he was the only Member of Parliament who voted against the approval of Mr. Martin Amidu as the Special Prosecutor.
