Rashid Pelpuo expresses shock at Abuga Pele's incarceration

Member of Parliament for Wa Central and former Youth and Sports Minister, Hon. Rashid Pelpuo, has stated that the jail sentence of former Ghana Youth Employment Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA) coordinator, Abuga Pele, has come with a measure of shock to him.

In an interview with Joy News' Joseph Ackah Blay, the lawmaker stated that it is a painful experience for a former colleague Member of Parliament to be handed that kind of sentence.

He recounted the days they worked together; Abuga Pele as the coordinator of GYEEDA, and him a minister.

According to him, Abuga Pele was diligent with his work. He, however, does not know what transpired in the course of his work that has led to his current fate.

He stated that he wished the judge had shown some compassion for a man who has worked so hard for the young people of this country. He also wished him well.

The Accra High court recently sentenced Abuga Pele, a former Member of Parliament for Chiana-Paga Constituency and boss of GYEEDA, and businessman, Philip Assibit, to 6 and 12 years imprisonment respectively in a Gh4.1 million GYEEDA scandal.
