Hon. Alhassan Suhuyini sympathises with families of Abuga Pele and Philip Assibit

Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Hon. Alhassan Suhuyini, has conveyed his heartfelt sympathy to the families of jailed Abuga Pele and Philip Assibit.

In an interview with Joy News' Joseph Ackah Blay, the lawmaker stated that it is a trying moment for both families and he prays that Almighty Allah gives them the clarity of mind to deal with it.

When asked whether they deserve any sympathy for making the nation lose money, he answered that they are humans, so it is only human to feel sympathy for someone in such a situation.

The imprisonment of Abuga Pele, and Philip Assibit has been met with mixed feelings. Whereas others think it is a bold statement to uproot corruption, others also feel they could have been made to pay the money and freed.

The Accra High court recently sentenced Abuga Pele, a former Member of Parliament for Chiana-Paga Constituency and boss of GYEEDA, and businessman, Philip Assibit, to 6 and 12 years imprisonment respectively in a Gh4.1 million GYEEDA scandal.
