The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Parliament, Frank Annor Dompreh says that preparation is underway to evacuate Ghanaians in Wuhan, the epicentre of the new coronavirus to Ghana.

He said steps are being taken to ensure that the necessary precautionary measures are put in place before evacuating them to avoid any eventualities.

The Minister of Health, Mr Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, recently stated that the government has allocated GH¢2.5 million to fund national preparedness to prevent coronavirus infection in the country, and that his ministry had also initiated the process to procure 10,000 pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) for all frontline health workers who might be engaged in the treatment and prevention of the disease.
