Prize Money of GHS 50,000.00 Set For MTN FA Cup Winner

The Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, Mr. Kurt Okraku, has revealed that the winner of the MTN FA Cup Final between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak will receive a cash prize of GHS 50.000.00.

The grand finale is slated for the Tamale Sports Stadium on 29th October, 2017.

Mr. Okraku made the disclosure during a press briefing to unveil the official mascot of this year’s final match.

On the subject of prizes, he make known that the best player, and the goal king will enjoy a fully paid trip to Hungary, an amount of GHS 20,000.00 worth of airtime will be given to the two teams, and thirty gold and thirty silver medals will be up for grabs.

The winner of the grand finale will represent the country in next year’s CAF Confederations Cup. They will receive an amount of GHS 100,000.00 to help them prepare for the tournament.

The losing team will take home a cool GHS 15,000.00.

He also assured supporters of adequate security, saying that human life and property will be protected on the day.

On a lighter note, Communications Director for Accra Hearts of Oak, Mr. Kofi Opare Addo, who was present at the ceremony, appealed to the organizers to hand the official mascot to the Phobians after they beat Kotoko.

Spokesperson for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Mr. Michael Nkansah, who was also at the event, said his side is optimistic about beating Hearts. The trophy, he said, is far away from Hearts. He promised that his team will defeat Hearts of Oak.

Mr. Okraku noted that the final will be telecast on ten television stations.

Afropop, dancehall and reggae sensation Mujahid Ahmed Bello, who goes by the stage name Fancy Gadam, is billed to entertain fans and viewers alike.
