The report read in part:

“Effective today, both parties have parted ways mutually.

We appreciate the hard work of Kenichi Yatsuhahsi as Head Coach during the first round of the 2017/18 Zylofon Cash Premier League.”

Coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi confirmed the mutual termination of his tenure from the club with a post on Twitter that read:

“I’d like to inform that I have mutually end my role at Inter Allies FC.

I appreciate the club an opportunity and an experience during my stay, and I wish them the best of luck.”

Although the real reason for Mr. Kenichi’s termination has not been disclosed, several unconfirmed reports have it that it has something to do with ‘gross insubordination’ on the part of the highly recruited coach. One Karikari Agyemang also pondered aloud as to why the local clubs couldn’t cope with Mr. Yatsuhashi with a salient question on Twitter.

Reaction

The response from several supporters of the club and soccer fans has been that of sadness and surprise, with some describing the action as petty, whilst others called on the club to give a detailed explanation of events.

Second coming

Coach Yatsuhashi’s less-than-a-year stint with the Capelli Boys marked his second stint with a Ghanaian football club. This follows his appointment to the top job at Hearts of Oak in October of 2015, and his subsequent acrimonious departure from the Phobia fraternity in June of 2016, over accusations of gross insubordination and indiscipline by the club’s top executives.

He was appointed to the head coaching position at Inter Allies in December of 2017. Under his brief tenure, the team that barely escaped relegation the previous season went undefeated at home in the first half of the season, winning all 7 games played at home, and capping things off with the team’s first away win in well over two years; a lone goal win over Wa All Stars. The team ended the first half of the season with 24 points for the 5th spot.

It’s unsure what the affable and well-liked coach’s, who many consider a sensei, next move will be, but his training regimen and success at turning clubs around can definitely land him a new home in the Premiership or the Division One League.

The management of Inter Allies has assured their supporters that they will take the necessary steps to find a suitable coach for the first team.

His firing comes on the heels of the dismissal of Coach CK Akunnor from AshantiGold for working as a pundit with a local TV station in the ongoing 2018 FIFA WC tournament.

Meanwhile, the fate of the second half of the Zylofon Cash Premier League remains in limbo, following allegations of corruption against the then GFA President, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi, that came to light in a recent documentary by ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas. The documentary led to the resignation of Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi, and a dissolution of the Football Association by the country’s president, Nana Akufo-Addo.
