According to the release, Mr. Grant will be in charge of technical aspects of the club, from the youth teams to the senior side, and will report directly to the club’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mark D. Noonan.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Noonan noted that Mr. Grant is the right man at the right time to lead the club’s program.

He added that Mr. Grant has all the personal qualities the club was looking for in a leader: integrity, work ethic, communication skills, attention to detail, incredibly high standards of professionalism.

Mr. Grant, whose professional career extends to 18 clubs across Europe, Africa, Asia, and includes work with notable sports personalities including Roy Hodgson and Sam Allardyce, expressed his readiness for the challenge, adding he was looking forward towards the future with high hopes.

Mr. Grant added “I understand the expectations at a Club like Hearts and am ready to get to work.  Under my leadership, we will bring back the ‘Never Say Die’ spirit”

More recently, Mr. Grant worked locally as the Technical Director of Elmina Sharks, Sea Lions FC, and Elmina Sharks Academy Head Coach.

He has successfully completed all his UEFA Pro ‘A’ Level coaching requirements through the English FA, pending practical observation by the FA.

The Ghana Premier League, meanwhile, remains on hold, following its dissolution in the wake of financial malfeasance against one time president of the GFA, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi.
