The President of the Ghana Badminton Federation, Mr. Evans Yeboah, has called on the sports fraternity to seriously consider sports insurance since it can easily be carried out.

According to him, he has had discussions with some insurance companies and they told him that there is nothing like sports insurance in the country, explaining that it is not something that the regulator has approved for them to have a look at.

Also, Mr. Evans Yeboah said he implored the insurance companies that it is an area they should pay attention to, noting that if the National Insurance Commission (NIC) is engaged properly as regards sports insurance, he believes it will be a sector within the segment they will find their means on.

On what protocols the association has put in place for the athletes as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, he stated that the association has issued detailed guidelines in terms of how the athletes should get ready to play off and on court. He added that the athletes are responding positively to the guidelines they have laid down.

He further made it known that the current situation is challenging, so they are having their athletes train at home through their technical handlers and trainers.

Mr. Evans Yeboah made the above revelations when he spoke simultaneously on GTV Sports+ and Happy FM.
