Hope for Future, a Division Three side in Greater Accra, last Friday defeated La United 2-0 at the El-Wak Stadium to qualify for the Division Two League.

A goal in each half from Kenneth Dedoo and Emmanuel Yeboah respectively, ensured the Osu-based club’s promotion to the Greater Accra Regional Division Two League.

Speaking to the press moments after their victory, Coach Jonathan Akrong attributed the victory to a solid defence, which he said, was the foundation of their attacking incursions.

"My main target is to survive the Greater Accra Regional Division Two Football League and fight hard to gain promotion to the Division One League," he stated.

In the other matches, Kingdom FC pipped Great Stars 1-0 to finish third in the Accra East Football Association League, while Shining Babies edged out Cantonments 4-2 on penalties in the U-17 final after a 1-1 draw in normal time.

Shining Babies completed a memorable double when their U-15 team triumphed 5-4 on penalties after their tie with Heroes FC ended 0-0.

The chairman of the Accra East Football Association, Richard Boateng, however, bemoaned the late start of the Division Three league and attributed it to a legal dispute in the Premiership.

He also described Hope for Future as worthy champions with talented players who are capable of securing promotion to the Division League next season.
