
Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) has signed a lucrative cash sponsorship deal of GHc 480,000 each with Ghanaian giants - Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.At a brief signing ceremony held at the GOIL Executive Centre in Accra on Friday morning, GOIL revealed that it will make available a monthly payment of GHc 40,000 to each club for a 12-month duration, that is, GHc 480, 000.00 per club.
"Our interest is to support the local league which we believe will eventually benefit talent development and strengthen the cash strapped clubs", said Mr. Patrick A.K Akorli, the MD of GOIL.
He also revealed that the package will be used for player welfare in the form of allowances, adding his outfit is determined to support the local topflight and promote untapped talent among the youth.
In line with the deal, the two teams will display GOIL logo and products during home matches and at training sessions. The GOIL logo will also be displayed on the back of the team’s official jersey.
GOIL Brand Ambassador, Barimah Azuma Nelson was in attendance, he used the occasion to call on Ghanaians to patronize the products of local companies.
Meanwhile, the two beneficiaries will clash on Monday, May 2nd at the Accra Sports Stadium in Ghana’s version of the El Clasico.
