Black Stars vs Mauritius, Mauritius vs Ghana 0/2 Africa Qualification
Ghana’s national team – The Black Stars – secured their place at next year's Africa Cup of Nations tournament after defeating the Mauritius national team by two goals to nothing in their Group H encounter played at the Stade Anjalay in the small Mauritian city of Belle Vue Maurel.
The Black Stars won the group on 13points with the victory and also sealed their spot for Gabon 2017, while Mauritius remain third in the group.
Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew, broke through with the opener for his side after 70 minutes, beautifully controlling a Baba Rahman’s cross before turning it home.
Christian Atsu doubled the lead for the Stars two minutes later with Baba Rahman providing the assist again to put the game well beyond the reach of their hosts.
The four-time champions thus sealed their spot with a game to spare.
Following Mozambique's 3-2 victory over Rwanda on Saturday, Ghana knew a draw would see them through.
The Black Stars won the first leg played in Accra by seven goals to one.
