The tight race to the premiership continues this weekend in the GN Bank Division One – zone 3 – league with the precocious neophyte side - Okyeman Planners – having a point advantage over former tier-one side Gt. Olympics after trouncing the latter by three goals to one last weekend to claim the summit. Heart of Lions also reduced their deficit for the top spot to 3points to get back into the race which looks likely to get a tad tighter as all the top three teams take to the road this weekend in tough match ups with Okyeman Planners playing as guests of 13th placed on 27 points relegation threatened Pure Joy who have their backs against the wall and need the win to stay above the fray. Pure Joy are coming off a morale boosting 2-1 home win over Danbort FC this past weekend but may find victory against the nifty Planners who are undefeated in the second round hard to come by.

Second placed Gt. Olympics will be on the lookout to avoid a back to back defeat as they take to the road against Kotoku Royals who are undefeated at home this second round but are coming off a 2-1 loss at Lions this past weekend that they will like to rebound from, given the need to up their tally and avoid falling into the relegation shuffle below them. Olympics earned a hard fought 2-1 win in the first encounter and will have to play one of their best games if they want to secure the maximum points and keep pace for the top spot, though they have won a couple on the road this second term, their last two road outings have not being favorable (2-0) and it’s time they turned things around. And third placed Heart of Lions who moved 3points within the summit after ending a 2 games winless slide will look to keep the pressure for the top spot as guests of Okwawu Utd who are looking to end their two game winless run. Lions won the first encounter at home by 2 goals to nothing and may just be able to steal a point in this one.

Vision FC will continue their quest to break into the top four ranks after picking up just a point at home against Okwawu Utd last weekend as guests of a relegation engulfed Amidaus Professionals side that will be on the prowl for their unprecedented 4th straight victory of the season, and Tema Youth will play as guests of Mighty Jets who have dropped to the 11th spot on 28points, just a point away from the first relegation spot and definitely need to win here to improve their outlook.

Elsewhere on the weekend, Roberto FC will likely pick up their seventh straight loss of the second round as guests of Sporting Mirren, Danbort FC will look to add to the woes of the visiting relegation threatened Nania FC, and so will Istanbul as hosts of bottom King Solomon.
