The MTN FA Cup Round of 16 matches will come on as scheduled this Sunday with the competition expected to pick in intensity as several clubs already shut out of this year’s Premier League title focus their attention on grabbing the second most coveted soccer trophy available in the land.

Defending FA Cup Champions - Bechem United – will continue their defense of the title as guests of neighbors Berekum Chelsea as the two sides meet for the second time this year with B. Chelsea playing hosts this time around. The two sides usually play each other tough, they played to a 1-1 tie in week 4 of the GPL at Bechem. Either side can win this game but B. Chelsea sure has the edge playing at home.  Ghana Premier League leading side - WAFA – will continue their quest for the improbable double as guests of Division One side - Amidaus Professionals. The Academy lads who are presently on top of their game should not have any problem overcoming their hosts who are playing much better in the second tier league despite recent stumble.

Perennial contenders – Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko - whose chances of grabbing the Premier League title this year does not look too bright will give it their all against second-tier opponents Young Wise FC and Wassaman Utd respectively as they look for something worth winning to make their season count. And Medeama SC will have the advantage at home as they host fellow tier-one side Elmina Sharks for the second time this season. The two sides split the two meetings with each winning at home, and it’s quite likely the home team will again.

Elsewhere, Division One side FC Samartex will welcome defending league champions – Wa All Stars – with hopes of repeating last year’s giant killing feat that saw them knock out Hearts of Oak. Wa All Stars better be on guard as their hosts will be playing for their season’s biggest achievement, having lost all hope at this time of winning the GN Bank Division One – Zone two – title this year. And Danbort FC who handed fellow Division One peers – Vision FC – a stunning 2-3 loss this midweek will definitely try to pull another stunner on their guests, Liberty Professionals.

The MTN FA cup competition never disappoints in surprises, hence, the top tier teams will have to be at their best to avoid any surprises.

Below are the matches for the Round of 16:
