Shatta Wale 'punches' Ghana media over Ebony's death

Outspoken Dancehall Artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., also known as Shatta Wale, has slighted the media fraternity over the death of fellow Dancehall Artiste, Priscilla Opuku-kwarteng, popularly known as Ebony Reigns.

Shatta Wale castigated the media during the One Week Celebration of the death of Ebony Reigns held at the St. Martin De Porres School, Dansoman, Accra.

According to Shatta Wale, the media never supported Ebony when she was alive, but rather condemned her for her provocative dressing style.

He further questioned why Ghanaians do not support Ghanaian artistes. He consoled Ebony's parents, and asked them to adopt him as their son to replace the loss they have suffered.

Ebony Reigns lost her life in a fatal accident that occurred in the early hours of February 9th, 2016, in Sunyani, Brong Ahafo. The accident also claimed the lives of her personal assistant, Franky Kuri, and that of a military personnel with the Ghana Armed Forces, who has since been identified as Francis Atsu Vondee.

The fatal accident occurred on the eve of her upcoming European tour.

Ebony Reigns rose to fame with hit songs like Poison, Kupe, Hustle, and a host of others.

Her single 'Maame Hw3' that seeks to address domestic violence has received rave reviews, and topped the charts for months now.

She will be laid to rest on 17th March, 2018.
