Kotoko's Dr Amo Sarpong banned for 6 months

This was after the DC had found Dr Sarpong guilty of misconduct, having pleaded not guilty to the charge of wrongfully wielding a gun at a match venue by the GFA prosecutor, Raphael Tottimeh.

The Disciplinary Committee (DC) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has suspended Dr Yaw Amo Sarpong, Policy Analyst of Asante Kotoko, from all football matches and competitions for six months with immediate effect pursuant to Article 39.1(a) of the GFA General Regulations.

The tough loss after a strong defensive effort means 19th-ranked New Zealand is still looking for its first-ever World Cup victory.

Jill Roord came off the bench and scored in stoppage time to give the Netherlands a 1-0 victory over New Zealand in the Women’s World Cup group opener for both teams Tuesday.
